Satuday May 4th 6-8pm

This practice is designed to uncover the flow within stillness, and the stillness within flow.

Yin and Yang are Taoist concepts that describe the two main qualities present in everything around us. Yin is more inward, still, and cooling. And Yang is more outward, dynamic, and fiery. In the realm of yoga, Yin is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer to target the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues and joints in the body. And Yang refers to a more active practice working on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength, focus and flexibility.

The first half of this class will be a yin sequence guided by Rae, followed by a power vinyasa with Leah, and ending with an assisted savasana with Ginger.

Full stillness. Strong movement. Deep relaxation. By practicing yin yoga first, the stretching can settle deeper into our tissues (if the muscles are warm and active from vinyasa, they will absorb most of the tension of the stretch). Pairing this with an intuitive flow will calm the body and bring you into a deeper sense of your strength through breath within each movement. And closing with relaxing assists and a guided meditation will ground your mind and body.

Cost: $45
